Not convinced yet? Well on top of all that's been mentioned so far there are a whole host of attractions within an easy drive of
the cottage. Try Alnwick for the castle and gardens, great shops including the UK's second largest secondhand bookshop in the old station, only 9 miles away.
Try a boat trip to The Farne Islands to see puffins, seals and a whole host of other birdlife. Visit Warkworth castle just a mile away, try Holy Island for its castle, tranquil English setting and the fantastic causeway.
Have a trip to Bamburgh Castle and its great deserted beaches.
Pop into Alnmouth just up the coast and as you turn the corner
to get to the beach be prepared for a sharp intake of breath - the view and the beach are fantastic!
The list goes on and on.
There really is too much to do in a fortnight never mind a week!
